Mobile-app is now available#

A mobile app is now available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on Android and iOS. The mobile app is a great way to quickly create items, add photos and assign existing barcodes to them.

  • Visit app.inventauro.com/install with your mobile phone and follow the installation steps
  • Use the in-app scanner to scan items, inventory, or storage location barcodes using the phone's camera
  • An external bluetooth barcode scanner can also be used together with the mobile app

Attributes and variants#

Variants add attribute-level tracking to your items. When an item comes in multiple versions — different sizes, colors, materials, or any other differentiating attribute — you can now model that directly and track inventory per variant.

  • A variant is defined as a given set of pre-defined attributes
  • When adding or adjusting inventory for an item that has attributes, a variant must be selected
  • Stock levels are tracked independently for each variant

Custom fields for everything#

Custom fields can now be added to items, storage locations, and inventory entries, so you can capture the information that matters to your specific workflow without being limited to the built-in fields.

Creating custom fields

  • Admins can define custom fields from Settings → Custom Fields
  • Fields are configured per entity type: Items, Storage Locations, and Inventory
  • Supported field types: Text, Number, Date, and Yes/No

Using custom fields

  • Custom fields appear in the creation and edit forms for the relevant entity
  • Fields can be marked as required to ensure consistent data entry
  • Custom field values are shown in the detail view and, where space allows, in the list view as an optional column
  • Custom fields are included when exporting data to CSV

Barcodes and label printing#

Barcodes can now be generated and printed directly from the app, and scanned using a Bluetooth barcode scanner to quickly locate records without manual searching.

Printing barcodes

  • Barcodes can be printed for items, inventory entries, and storage locations
  • Access the print option from the actions menu on any item, inventory row, or location
  • Batch printing is supported — select multiple records and print all barcodes at once
  • Barcodes are generated in Code 128 format and include the record name beneath the barcode for easy identification

Scanning with a Bluetooth scanner

  • Pair any standard Bluetooth HID barcode scanner with your computer
  • When a barcode is scanned, the app automatically navigates to and highlights the corresponding item, inventory entry, or storage location — no manual lookup needed
  • Scanning works from any view; the app handles routing automatically

Categories, tags and filters#

Filters are now available on the Items and Storage views, making it easier to find what you're looking for when your catalog starts to grow.

  • Multiple filters can be applied at the same time — they stack as AND or OR conditions
  • Filter state is preserved when navigating away and back within the same session
